Party with Prop Bets
When it comes to football, we all know The Big Game is a big deal. Whether you have skin in the game or not, it’s a great excuse to gather your friends and family for a party. While serving a touchdown-worthy spread can make you a game day MVP, the real champs know how to make the game itself more exciting. Prop bets are a fun way to help make sure that all your guests watch the game with the enthusiasm of a life-long fan. After all, The Big Game is in Vegas this year…
So, if you’re new to betting or just need a little inspiration for your game day party, keep reading.
What’s a Prop Bet?
Prop bets, or proposition bets, are wagers made on specific events or outcomes within a game. They can be related to the overall outcome of the game or specific things that do (or don’t) happen during the game. Prop bets can be as simple as calling which team will score the first or last point, or as creative as wagering what color drink will be dumped on the winning coach. These bets can add extra excitement, especially for guests who wouldn’t otherwise be “super” interested.
Prop Sheets or Game Sheets
Prop or game sheets are premade, downloadable printouts that have a whole list of prop bets to take you through the game from start to finish. Everyone fills out their answers to the bets listed and watches as the game unfolds. Winning guesses are rewarded with points that are tallied at the end of the game. Whoever has the most points wins.

More Fun Games for Game Day
Looking to add even more excitement to your Big Game bash? Here’s a winning lineup of our favorite games that are sure to keep you and your guests engaged throughout the party.
Pass the Cup
This classic game is simple and easy for everyone to enjoy. The host, or a selected guest, chooses an event or maneuver that’s sure to happen during the game, such as a touchdown or a fumble. Then, each guest puts a dollar in the cup. The cup is passed between guests at every change of possession until the selected move occurs. Whoever’s holding the cup when it happens wins the money, and the game starts again with the winner choosing the next event or maneuver.
Game Day Squares
This is another classic that’s great for any interest level. Start with a 10x10 grid. Each guest initials 1 box on the grid. Once your grid is filled, label the top with your AFC team and the left side with your NFC team, then randomly assign the numbers 0-9 for the boxes under each team. At the end of each quarter, the winner’s determined by who has the box that lines up with the last digit of the AFC score and the last digit of the NFC score. For example, if the score is AFC 23 - NFC 14, your winning box would be AFC 3 with NFC 4.
Game Day or Commercial Bingo
Who doesn’t love a good game of bingo? For this game, you can have everyone design their own bingo cards to fit the theme or have premade cards ready to go. Whether you choose to fill your card with moments you’re anticipating during the game, which brands will have commercials, or things you’re betting will happen during your party, bingo is bingo…and it’s always a fun way to win a prize.
Paper Football
Fold your own paper footballs, set up those goal posts and score some nostalgic fun.
Mini Cornhole
For those of us unable to experience fantastic backyard fun in February, mini cornhole sets can bring the fun indoors.
